       @fdroidorg I'd rather you didn't force your moral standards upon your users.Especially not with lazy excuses such as "protecting children" or "just set up your own F-droid repo".These completely fail to consider that not every user is a child and that what makes F-droid desirable is its status as an independent software distribution, not the technical details of the protocol.There already exists a mechanism to express moral preference filters for apps: anti-features. Use those instead.

Even without any moral, legal or other social implications, it is also simply practical to be able to filter out slop.If you require (frequently remotely hosted) non-free code in order to modify a piece of software, you can hardly call it "free".  People who think otherwise would still have the freedom to opt into the anti-feature – as with all the others.
