On my walk earlier, I saw this minivan parked at the top of the boat ramp, but perpendicular to it, so the side of the van was facing the boat ramp. The side door on that side was open and this guy was sitting there with easily a 7 or 8 foot long fishing rod, reaching all the way to the water, and he was fishing with it. This guy found a way to fish from his van, from the parking lot. Fucking incredible

Just learned about Ben Barnes, an intersex transmasc neurobiologist who transitioned halfway through his career in 1997, and then later publishing papers about sexism in science based on his experiences having been both a woman in science and a man in science. Pretransition, he'd been passed up on for opportunities for men with far less experience than him, and had once been accused of having a hypothetical boyfriend solve a complex math problem instead of having actually solved it himself. Post transition, he found that he was always treated with respect and never looked down upon by those who didn't know he was trans. In one instance, after giving a talk on his research, another scientist told him that his research was "better than his sister's" (his "sister", in fact, being him pretransition).

As promised, photos of the foster kittens!!! They are 8 weeks old and are always getting into so much mischief!!!! Their names are all palindromes! The brown tabby is Laval, the black kitten is Hannah, the grey tabby is Reinier, and the all grey one is Ogopogo!!!!

r/CatHelp is very funny because over half of the posts are like "what is wrong with my cat?" and then a photo or video of a very normal cat doing very normal cat thingsAlso there is an alarmingly high number of posts very confused about the existence of nipples on male cats

And of course, I adore your tie-dyed trans flag labcoat!!! I should dye mine like that hehe(Plus I think doing surgeries and stuff is super cool, it's something I'm pretty interested in and would love to do bodymodding stuff like this someday, so I'm kinda jealous hehe)

I've been asked to give everyone an update on a very close friend of mine, @artic Earlier this week, she was in a really bad accident and hospitalized. She could barely move her arms and legs as a result, and had surgery yesterday to help restore function to them. I've been told that she will probably need a nurse for the rest of her life now.This happened right before she was about to start a new job, too, and finally have an income a year after she escaped her abusive parents. She was the most hopeful I've ever seen her, and then this happened. One of my biggest gripes with mens' fashion is suits. Women and fem-presenting folks get to wear all sorts of cool, fun, and pretty dresses in many different colors and styles to fancy events, but men and masc folks are limited to suits, and get ridiculed for suits that are brightly colored or overly patterned. And galas and weddings and stuff are all so boring, with fem individuals wearing all sorts of different and wild outfits, and the guys are all in suits, plain and boring suits. We need more cool and fun variety for fancy menswear, I wanna see fancy boys dressed in all sorts of different and varied outfits at events, not just suits!!

Oh my god, 40% of all marriages in Canada end in divorce and regret!!!! Clearly this means that we should ban marriage to stop anyone from being manipulated into marriage when it's clearly not right for them and they'd be much happier and authentically themselves being single!!!!!
