Infocom continues to exist under Activision.   You can pick up all 36 of 
the old Infocom games for aboout US$18 from Activision.  This is a CD 
which includes online in Acrobat format hints, maps, instructions, and so 
on.  It's an excellent deal.  You can probably find it in the UK.

Don't assume that.  They aren't PD.  Activision has an interest in 
defending Zork since they continue to produce Zork-universe games 
(Planetfall II should be out RSN).

Your old Infocom originals are worth money nowadays. Go on a Web search 
for "Ye Olde Infocom Shoppe".
