Those are short? I'd agree to call them "novellas", but only because 
that's an intermediate label. I certainly wouldn't say "bite-sized." There 
are plenty of short stories, notably in the competitions.

To me, a short story is one scene or event sequence. One Thing. Theatre
and Shelby are each quite involved, with several Things nested and
sequenced around each other. In fact I usually think of them as 
"full-length", although they're certainly short novels if compared to 
something like Jigsaw or Christminster.
