Hi, I'm very new to IF but fascinated and I'm trying to learn about the
authoring systems. I've downloaded Inform 68K v 2.12.exe for the mac
from the gmd.de site, but it doesn't seem to be running correctly. For
example, I tried compiling Balances.inf, and Inform produced an output
without giving any error messages. But that output file was only 2K and
when I tried to run it on MacZip I got the error, apparently fatal,
"PC=370", or something like that. I also tried compiling the
micro-example Ruins from the first page of ch. 1 in the Designer's
Manual, but the program complained that it couldn't find Parser.h
and VerbLib.h; so I downloaded those from the archive, and *then* the
compiler claimed not to recognize "location" and "description" and it
produced no output. I also had trouble compiling Z-Life.inf, so at this
point I downloaded Inform 6, which together with the library files, *did*
produce a runnable game, much to my surprise, since version 6 is
described as still very preliminary.

I have a Mac IIsi, but I've also tried both the 68K and PPC versions of
Inform5.5 on a PowerMac, with similar results.

I hope this gives someone enough clues to figure out what I'm doing
wrong. All help and suggestions will be appreciated.
