I'm a bit further on (I've got the key and the device). But what do I
do now?

I've got into the monument (having sketched the night-jar); I've put
the jigsaw piece in the right place in the board. So I'm left with a
rather strange clock, a device with apparently only one control (a
white button) and no idea what to do with them. Setting the clock to
something in the room with the jigsaw board seems to do something: the
board flashes. And after a while I can't get out of the monument
again. But presumably I'm supposed to be in the disk room (given the
inscription!) doing something with one or both of the clock and the
strange device, but for the life of me I can't work out what.

Have I missed a clue somewhere?
