My personal opinion has always been that nothing is "overdone" in the
sense that you probably mean it.  What *is* overdone is a boring,
redundant treatment of a particular approach.

Let's face facts:  If one were really motivated, one could write a damn
good story about some pour slob wandering a cave, collecting treasure,
in hopes of finding out who he is.  With a magical plot device.
 Uhm...and a robot.  Did I miss any of the major ones...?  Actually,
"Tinseltown Blues" pushes most of those same buttons, and it's one of
the fresher games I've seen.

Of course, I haven't seen the movie/read the book, so I'm just speaking
in the general sense.  Whether or not "Bourne" is that fresh face, I
couldn't tell you.
