Now, where I come from, that involves all of reading a few sectors from disk
into RAM.  Oh, and building a PSP, which can be pretty much copied into

Sure, if you're writing your OS to run on a z-machine.  Otherwise, you can
try just executing z-code but your CPU will get rather annoyed at you.
