Indeed, I would suggest UULite, available on any of the Info-Mac mirrors,
which, IIRC, will allow you to uuencode.

StuffIt Deluxe also allows for uuencoding.

Or just get a copy of Eudora Light from Qualcomm <http://www.qualcomm.com/>
and it will do the encoding automagically.
