It was Beyond Zork, which was .z5, I'm pretty sure. And how it was done 
was at the game level, not the interpreter level. The program drew 
several windows and filled them as appropriate. It wouldn't be hard to 
write an Inform library extension to do this; but it's not applicable to 
existing games.
