In terms of semantic value, I don't think there is really
that much difference from a puzzle which requires you to,
say, put a cube in a slot to open a door, then there is from
a puzzle which requires you to give a sonnet to the lovely
Juliette so she doesn't leap off the balcony.

All puzzles involve a resolution of conflict, which is at the
heart of fiction as we know it.  Although the nature of this
conflict varies, I believe it's implementation remains essentially
the same.

Of course, the user might perceive a greater value in saving
Juliette than in saving the cube, but that's the user's problem.
