I am not sure how long that you have been at walnut creek but as
I recall the same public outrising occurred when word got out that 
walnut creek was going to release shareware DOOM wads on CDROM.  Only
in that case the discussions where on a much larger scale and not quite
as friendly.  In the end there has been two releases of the DOOM toolkit
CD to date.  

I plan on purchasing a copy if it is published.
