Has anyone run into this problem?

I have this declared:

Property oldlife NULL;

WHich means that all objects will have NULL as the default. HOwever,
when I actually go to set oldlife to something:

  something.oldlife = something.life;

It crashes with internal error #23. I actualy have to declare 'oldlife
NULL' within the object. Why? This seems silly..
