Yes.  TADS and Inform are 'pushed' as the only two adventure development 
systems worth considering.  This may or may not be true, because there 
are many others.  Judging by conversation on this newsgroup, though, they 
seem about evenly matched in popularity.

The ftp site for the newsgroup (and a place where you can get an 
evaluation version of TADS, as well as a complete Inform distribution 
[it's freeware]) is ftp.gmd.de in the if-archive/ directory.

Alternatively, I maintain a Web page with the file descriptions for 
ftp.gmd.de, linked to the programs themselves.
