From One Ex-Lutheran to Another

Editor, The Remnant: I wanted to thank Nate Metger for his good article What Has Happened to the Catholic Mass? I, too, am a convert and can totally relate to his experience. I wanted to tell him not to give up, that he has been graced to find the Latin Mass which is the most sublime thing this side of heaven.

We truly experienced the diabolical disorientation as new Catholics.

For myself, I also had the added disillusionment of not being able to find anyone to support me in leaving the homosexual lifestyle. Everyone in the Novus Ordo Church, clergy, religious and lay alike looked at me like I was from Mars because the Holy Spirit freed me from this very painful and deep depravity of soul. One religious sister told me I was in denial of my true sexuality when I approached her for support in the lonely way I was trying to go - lonely because I could find no one to help me! I spoke for two hours to a priest once, and, afterwards, he managed to stumble out that he thought my words were of God, as if he had been wondering all that time if I, too, were a heretic. Yes, truly bonkers. I wanted to tell Nate, don’t give up! You have found the treasure of treasures! It took about a year for me to realize what I had found after I attended my first Latin Mass.

After that, nothing else would do. I will pray for you – that, somehow, God will help you find a way to go to this Mass.
