PREFACE

SOME OF THE ESSAYS INCLUDED IN THIS BOOK DEAL WITH EVENTS as they arose in Canada. This is due to the fact that I worked at the Fraser Institute, located in Vancouver, British Columbia from 1979–1991, when a portion of these pieces were written. But, let me assure readers from other nations, the issues of discrimination which arose there and then were global issues having implications for most places in the world, particularly the U.S., in the modern era. In many ways, Canada was then and is now “ahead” of the U.S., at least insofar as the march downward toward socialism and economic interventionism are concerned.
