ALTERNATE ORIGINS

On the other hand – our history in the U.S. so far been a welcoming one – as the records in this book clearly indicate. So many others from diverse backgrounds– multi-racial, multi-lingual, multicultural, multi-everything as they might have been – eventually blended fairly well into the American corpus ridiculous.

Already, a second generation of my cousins are intermarrying with those who descend from both the Pilgrims, and from

Pocahontas. One of my cousins is half French Canadian, another half-Russian. In one family alone one sibling is married to a Midwestern Christian, another to an Italian Catholic, and a third to a former Mennonite. There also Swedes and a ton of Irish.
