Beyond Compliance: How can modern slavery due diligence build resilient supply chains that advance decent work?

How do we create decent work and inclusive economic growth in a world shaped by growing geopolitical uncertainty, widening inequality and rapid economic and technological change?

These challenges demand more than new ideas. They demand connection, collaboration and collective action.

The UNAI SDG 8 Hub, chaired by the University of Auckland is launching MOMENTUM - a new global conversation bringing together leaders, practitioners and changemakers from business, government, academia, civil society and the world of work.

Our aim is simple:

CONNECT people. GROW capability. Amplify IMPACT.

To mark the World Day for Decent Work on 7 October, our inaugural session will explore:

Beyond Compliance: How can modern slavery due diligence build resilient supply chains that advance decent work?

As expectations around human rights and modern slavery due diligence continue to grow, organisations face a critical challenge: how do we move beyond compliance to create meaningful and lasting value?

This conversation will explore how organisations can strengthen supply chain resilience, while improving outcomes for workers and contributing to collective wellbeing through prevention, effective remedy, and stronger supplier relationships.

Together we can strengthen the collective leadership, capability and collaboration needed to turn ambition for SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth, into meaningful change.
