The Sioux City university announced the launch of the Partner Tuition Advantage, or PTA, program in a news release this week. Crittenton Center, a local nonprofit focused on helping children and families, is the program’s first partner, the release stated. “Briar Cliff University is honored to partner with Crittenton Center in expanding educational access for those who serve our community so faithfully,” Briar Cliff University President Matthew Draud said in the release. “Our mission has always been to empower learners at every stage of life, and this collaboration ensures that Crittenton employees can pursue their goals with the flexibility, support, and affordability they deserve.” Employees of businesses included in the program will have access to discounted tuition rates for certain online degree programs, individual support and “streamlined credit evaluation,” according to the release. Briar Cliff University states on its PTA program website programs in nursing, business, social work and criminal justice are being offered to employees of partner organizations. The tuition advantage program has two options for employer partners listed on its website — the first has employees cover their tuition costs and the second has the business paying their workers’ tuition and fees. For Crittenton Center employees, the release stated the nonprofit will host “on-site informational sessions” and share information with interested parties. Both the nonprofit and university are reaffirming their “dedication to strengthening the local workforce, building opportunity, and ensuring that those who care for our community have access to the tools and education they need to thrive” through this new partnership and program, according to the release. “Continued learning strengthens not only our workforce, but the quality of care and support we provide every day,” said Crittenton Center CEO Kim Scorza in the release. “This partnership with Briar Cliff University allows us to invest directly in our team—giving them meaningful, affordable pathways to grow in their careers.” [END] --- [1] Url: https://iowacapitaldispatch.com/briefs/briar-cliff-university-launches-tuition-advantage-program-for-partner-employees/ Published and (C) by Iowa Capital Dispatch Content appears here under this condition or license: Creative Commons CC BY-ND-NC 4.0. via Magical.Fish Gopher News Feeds: gopher://magical.fish/1/feeds/news/iowacapitaldispatch/
