The Great Ice Database Disappearing Act [1]

ICE has begun digitally disappearing detainees. They are deleting detainees’ information from online databases that they are legally required to maintain and keep up to date. The people they are disappearing are those who are about to be deported from the country, and we have no idea where they are. We can no longer track them. Their families can no longer track them. Journalists can no longer track them, and their lawyers can no longer track them.

This is illegal and terrifying. These people who are being deported now have no ability to appeal their removal since their lawyers have no idea where they are and cannot talk to them. This means we do not know if they have been deported or where they have been deported to. These individuals, in a way, no longer exist, which is what this regime wants. And if you think this doesn’t matter because it doesn’t affect you, think again. Remember, whatever these people are doing to one person, they can do to you.
