Kitchen Table Kibitzing 10/6/2026: Jack [1]

['Belinda Ridgewood', 'Chitown Kev', 'Major Kong']

Date: 2026-10-06

Good evening, Kibitzers!

We were all so entertained by Sen. Eric Schmitt’s recent faceplant that I couldn’t just let it go by. There are so. Many. Memes.

First, in case you missed it, or just want to smile again, here is a condensed account of events from The Daily Show. ❧ [2:39]

Just for the sake of completeness, here are Seth Meyers and then Lawrence O’Donnell, each devoting considerable time to it.

Seth (Late Night with Seth Meyers, 9/30/2026). ❧ [16:03]

Lawrence (The Last Word, 9/29/2026). ❧ [13:47]

The point of this diary, though, is that I am easily entertained by a collection of themed memes, and hope you are too. Many thanks to exlrrp for posting most of these late in the thread of the APR. I think they need more attention than they got there.

School of Rock meme

The Nightmare Before Christmas meme

Seven Nation Army meme

The incident meme

Let’s close with a little Jack music.

Diana Krall, with Russell Malone and Paul Keller: Hit That Jive, Jack (Montreal Jazz Festival, June 1996). ❧ [3:55]

Tina Turner, with Lisa Fischer: Jumpin’ Jack Flash and It’s Only Rock ‘n’ Roll (GelreDome, Arnhem, Netherlands, 2009). ❧ [5:11]
