The Republicans War Against Decency [1] ['Greg Dworkin', 'Belinda Ridgewood', 'Rob In Vermont', 'Chloris Creator', 'News Corpse', 'Aashirs Nani'] Date: 2026-10-02 There’s a saying in journalism “if it bleeds, it leads” now it seems there’s a slogan for the republican controlled government “if it’s decent, it’s repugnant”, the republican seem to be going to war with integrity, decency, honesty, empathy, and values in general, while promoting themselves as “good Christians”. From the candidates they promote and the officials they install in position of power, no crime is too big, no scandal too much, in fact it seems the more deplorable you are the better you fare in the republican party and its followers. Their platform today can be resumed in 5 groupings. Lies, truth no longer matters, any lie that will benefit them is approved and disseminated Corruption, from a dollar to a trillion dollars, no money is too small a bribe Cruelty, no amount of pain for the US citizen even unto death will touch them Criminality, the more crimes one is credibly accused of, the more strings to hold over them Control, by any means necessary exert control over the government’s institutions and the people. It is almost impossible to comprehend how we got to this point in our nation. We have a government actively promoting the election of people that have credible sometimes people who have been found guilty of odious crimes, to seats of power. The list of cruel and vindictive acts committed by this administration is too long to post here. The rising number of cruel and vindictive acts being committed by their followers is likewise too long. But lord, has all sense of decency and humanity been pushed aside in the name of cruelty. A government who brazenly lies, when their own previous words are available for verification, when proof of said lies are right in front of them. The lack of shame or remorse is the most unsettling thing to witness; it sends shivers of fear down my spine at least. Because I keep wondering why, why aren’t they afraid of the future, why aren’t they scared of being one day held accountable? How can they be so brazen and laugh and smirk through their lies? What is their exit strategy and what does it mean for us? Sure trump can pardon them, sure they can flee to other countries before the end of his term… but will they never be held accountable for the damage and deaths they’ve caused? It is horrifying to see our government lie and lie and lie and lie with impunity, sometimes with a smile or a smirk knowing they are lying and getting away with it with their voters. That is until now. They miscalculated somewhat, in their minds their voters were swallowing their lies hook, line and sinker… but while that was true for some voters, it wasn’t for a good majority of them who were just going along because they thought they would come out on top, in the end, so they were willing to go with the lies. But when the effects of those policies started hitting home, suddenly the followers are not so pleased anymore with the lies and that might be the only thing that saves us.
