Losing our Humanity [1] ['Black Kos', 'Greg Dworkin', 'Chloris Creator'] Date: 2026-09-25 One of the things that has earned me a lot of scorn and disdain on social media and even on DK, is when I criticize our side for acting in a way that is similar to the side we’re fighting against. I’ve been called preachy, do gooder, virtue signaler, and a whole host of other stuff for wanting people to not just talk about goodness but be actually good. That I’m misunderstood is nothing new to me, it happens quite often and has happened for as long as I can recall. I attribute this to my weird childhood. It is what it is folks. I don’t think I’m better than others, I just think I’ve had more opportunities (read that as bad things) which have made me face and reflect on things. That’s one good thing one can say about having a troubled life. It makes most of us think more, dig in more. One of the things I’ve touched on, is that I’m not in this fight for a party to win, right now the left is the one seeking to do good things for people thus I’m on that side, but my side is basically humanity, so I’ll always stand with whomever values humanity and by humanity, I mean kindness, decency, love etc… I want people to be able to live. Living to me means having as worry free of a life as possible. For kindness to be the norm, not the exception, for bullying, bitterness, hate and anger to be eradicated like diseases. I want people to enjoy life. We seem to be turning a corner in the opposite direction. Right now, anger and bitterness seem to be leading the way. Renée Good was a good person, she did not deserve to be gunned down, her mother loved her, she loved her mother, they had a good relationship despite being on different parties… but that did not factor in for the folks that opened the floodgates of hate and scorn on this mother who had lost her daughter in horrible circumstances. The number of folks that went into she voted for this mode, folks I like, folks I admire, folks I consider friends left me in tears. Someone said they hoped she never knows a day or night free of the knowledge that she was complicit in her daughter’s killing. One said they wish her all the misery in the world. One said she’d rot in hell and so forth and so on. Because their bitterness and resentment were greater than their empathy. There is a myriad of reasons why folks voted for chump, most of them bad reasons, mainly reasons done not by reasoning but by party affiliation, by rote one could say. But not everyone who voted for chump did so to spite the left and that seems to be lost in the discourse. Same thing with immigrants being arrested, put in camps or deported… many don’t even think about the fact that immigrants cannot vote, they didn’t vote for chump or republicans, and we don’t know if they would have, even if their family members did. In our haste to FAFO those who voted for chump, we heap more abuse on the immigrants by saying “they deserve it” “it’s what they voted for” “FAFO”… Sure address the Latino demographic, but when you start on individual cases, you’re just piling abuse upon abuse. If we all give in to spite and revenge, we will have a world full of hurt, bitterness and resentment, is this really the world we want to live in? or leave our children to live in?
