#41 — If Drinkin’ Don’t Kill Me (Her Memory Will) – George Jones

Another “drinking to forget” classic from one of the great country singers. George has one more on this list but we’ll have to wait until the Top 10.

I’ll bet a lot of people who knew George Jones were damn surprised when drinkin’ didn’t kill him. His very dramatic life featured years of serious drinking and drug use and he was so often too drunk to perform that he got nicknamed “No Show Jones”. But he cleaned up and was mostly sober for almost 30 years, making it to age 81.
