Two more reasons to appreciate and love our northern neighbors. First, La Famille Le Blanc is from the French speaking area of northern New Brunswick. Briefly from interviews on YT: father, an instrumentalist, in the 70s played rock, pop etc, and his wife, a vocalist from Quebec have three daughters. He wanted to rediscover the Acadian traditional music his grandfather and great grandfather played during their lives and share/revive it with his community, wife and daughters. Whether you like/or not like traditional Celtic music, this is an emotional family musical journey that will make you emote some happy smiles and tears. Second, Elysia Biro, from Vancouver Island, a masters level jazz musician pianist/vocalist has combined her jazz with pop to write several really great songs. The video, Gentleman Blue is about her mother also a musician who inspired her to start piano playing at 4 years old. One of the videos on YT they play it together. Enjoy.
