Perhaps what Trump is doing [1]

with his continued actions on the Kennedy Center and kicking three networks out of the White House is not because he does not realize that he is going to lose in courts but rather something else

he – or the people helping him – realize on these issues the media (especially electronic) will spend some time covering these kinds of issues, and he does not think this will necessarily hurt him

but when they cover these issues, it is LESS coverage on

the war with Iraq

the price of gasoline and diesel

prices at the grocery store

the corruption of Trump and his family and some of the others around him

inflation

the increase the interest costs for auto loans, mortgages, small business loans, etc.

the shortage of diesel (increasing number of stations running out)

The more extreme and ridiculous his statements are, the greater the inclination of the media to devote minutes and column inches to these topics and thus crowd out things that have a more cogent impact upon voters.

Could that be why the number of these things seems to be increasing?
