[1] ['Chitown Kev', 'Belinda Ridgewood', 'Chloris Creator', 'Thom Hartmann', 'Bumper Monster'] Date: 2026-09-15 Claiming that the name of Trump ‘saves’ a place from bankruptcy is apparently a stretch. The national debt at $40 Trillion and $6/gallon diesel fuel might be a mitigating factor as Trump lawyers back off their more absurd demands related to the naming, renaming, and desecrating the Kennedy Center. As The Rules of Acquisition still state: “It never hurts to suck up to the boss”. What did happen to the millions of dollars not only allocated by Congress, but other funds available prior to the renaming but before Trump installed “his” people on the Center board? Lawfare might not actually work. A federal instrumentality/mixed-government entity cannot go bankrupt. Congress would have to pass new legislation to restructure, bail it out, or dissolve it. It cannot simply walk into a bankruptcy court. If Congress changes on November 3, the power to protect a national monument changes. BREAKING: Trump & cronies back down on HALF of the crazy in today's board meetingJust said they won't be pushing new resolution with renaming the Kennedy Center for Trump yet againThey are continuing with the rest of their foolishness & we will fight it. In Court 10 am ET today to get discovery — Norm Eisen (@normeisen.bsky.social) 2026-09-15T10:36:13.058Z Leaders of the John F Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts say it is reportedly on the brink of bankruptcy and could close as early as Tuesday. The center’s Donald Trump-installed leaders argued that putting the president’s name on its facade may be the only way to avoid imminent and “certain fiscal collapse”, the Washington Post first reported, citing documents it ‌obtained. The paper said ‌a report, prepared by the Washington DC institution’s trustees, claimed that ‌within a few weeks the institution won’t be able to pay employees or meet maintenance costs. The report was prepared in advance of a meeting that is scheduled for Tuesday. The 57-page internal document, circulated to the board ahead of the meeting, also flagged safety concerns tied to the building’s maintenance backlog and recommended that the main building be closed immediately.
