“I’m running for governor because I want my kids and all Iowa kids to have the same opportunities I had growing up and to be able to stay and start their families here,” Sand said. “I know we can and should be doing so much better for our kids. That starts with a change in leadership.”

Rob Sand isn’t a tough guy, Rob Sand is a thorough guy, as an auditor getting to the bottom of things is part of the job.

Rob Sand is the kind of guy that’s easily overlooked because he has this air of youth about him, but you’d be wrong to dismiss Rob Sand. Like many of the younger folks running, Sand just turned 44, the future is a big part of his campaign.

Don’t let his looks fool you he’s been participating in government since 2006, he may be young, but he ain’t green. He knows what he wants and he will persevere until he gets it. He’s determined and focus.

In his free time he spends time with his wife and kids, he walks his dog or goes hunting, he’s also a real Christian.

What I like about Rob is that there’s nothing fake about him, his emotions and feelings are easily readable on his face, he doesn’t have one ounce of hypocritical blood in him. He’s just an earnest man trying to do the right thing for his state and his community.
