Terror Has Exceptions [1] ['Mark Sumner', 'Greg Dworkin', 'News Corpse', 'Chauncey Devega', 'Dan K'] Date: 2026-09-11 I will never forget where I was on 9/11, and it will forever be a tragic day that we really should never forget. We should never forget how, for a brief moment, we all came together, loved each other, and cared about each other’s well-being. But what I hope to forget is the ugly side that came out of 9/11. The part where xenophobia and Islamophobia ran rampant and we allowed our basic instinct of fear to take over our choices. Maybe since we decided to use this tragedy as an excuse to invade innocent countries and destroy generations of people’s lives in the Middle East, we’ve become desensitized to the pain of others over there; but it blows me away how we can look at the tragedy that happened to us on 9/11, which leveled a few blocks of Manhattan, and obviously call that terrorism, but when entire counties are being leveled in Palestine and Lebanon, we call it collateral damage. It really does pay to be an ally of the United States because the spin in our favor is second to none. This must change. So on this day, after taking a moment for the lives lost during the 9/11 attacks, take a second moment for those whose lives Israel is terrorizing daily with our funding and support.
