Shutterstock/officebss Morning Y’all. 25 years ago, I worked as a route salesman for Kraft Pizza Co. We sold, delivered and merchandised Tombstone, DiGiorno and California Pizza Kitchen frozen pizzas in grocery stores, Walmarts, etc…. I had just pulled into the Food World in Pelham, AL, when NPR began to report that planes had hit both towers of The World Trade Center. I think I just sleepwalked through the next couple of stops; I really just wanted to go home and watch the TV coverage. The towers had fallen and the FAA had ordered all planes to land at the closest available airport. My most vivid memory of that day was standing on the back loading dock of the Food World in Fairfield, AL, which was very close to the Birmingham airport. Miss Geneva was the receiving manager. She and I just stood there for quite a while and watched the planes come in to land, one after the other. It was very depressing…. The floor is open, folks. What are your memories of that particular Tuesday?
