The Kremlin’s Social Design Agency [1]

['Chitown Kev', 'Sabrina Haake', 'Belinda Ridgewood']

Date: 2026-09-10

The Social Design Agency, which appears to be a direct part of the presidential administration, has been staging “activities short of war” in NATO countries. The Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project has done fantastic work here, receiving the results of an intrusion and producing this report.

While western NGOs do mighty work against this, there is no proportional response from NATO. I’m not saying there’s NO response, I’m saying it’s not proportional. Russia organizes a fire bombing in the U.K., NATO sends a sternly worded letter. Perhaps this will stir Ukraine to send the next sternly worded letter in permanent marker on the side of of Flamingo.

This is an area where I used to work – one of the rare public credits was News site editor’s ties to Iran, Russia show misinformation’s complexity, which appeared in June of 2024. The last gasp of that part of my life was Nigel Farage Denies Link To Crypto Conspiracy Theorist John Mappin, just a few weeks ago. I stopped doing this for two reasons – the first being that it’s insanely dangerous, and the second being that it’s basically impossible to make a living wage.

We once had something called the United States Information Agency, back when we understood the threat Russia poses to democracy. Nothing will be done, so long as Trump is in office, and even after I think it’s unlikely. There are simply too many ways for hostile foreign actors to slip money to disruptive forces here, and too many extremists willing to litigate 1st Amendment issues on behalf of propagandists.
