[1] ['Dan K', 'Sabrina Haake', 'Chitown Kev', 'Nanny Ogg'] Date: 2026-09-10 The chicanery never ever ends. Elon Musk has set up what looks like a legit website to help you protect your right to vote, but it’s a scam. From Democratic Underground: Elon Musk is running a fake voter registration site designed to steal and sell data. Do not fall for Elon Musk’s phony voting info site If you are looking for information on voting: 1. Google your own state department of elections. 2. Google your county/city/town General Registrar, talk with them — call, go to the office, send email. 3. Use vote.gov DO NOT USE votesafe dot org DO NOT USE votesafe.org This is an Elon Musk site that will feed you phony information. From the New Republic: Elon Musk Spends Millions Tricking People Into Giving Up Personal Data Elon Musk’s super PAC is stealing voters’ personal information—again. The billionaire technocrat’s America PAC has launched an aggressive advertising campaign directing them to Vote Safe, a website claiming to provide users with information they need to “vote with confidence.” But all the while, the site is secretly collecting some information of its own, Judd Legum reported Tuesday on his substack Popular Information. Any visitors to the site will unwittingly hand over their full name, birthday, home address, email address, cellphone number, IP address, browser, location, voter registration status, and district, not to mention every link they click on and every page they look at. SNOPES: Fact Check: Elon Musk’s VoteSafe.org shares users’ personal information. Here’s how we know: VoteSafe.org is, indeed, funded by Musk’s America PAC, and according to the website’s privacy policy, it may collect and share users’ personal information. (VoteSafe.org also offers a way for users to opt out of having their personal information shared with third parties.) As such, we have rated this claim as true. Seems even DOGE’s mining of data on every American wasn’t enough for the richest man in the world. He wants more. I don’t see this in the mainstream news yet, not even in the UK media, which tends to be ahead of the US on these things. Perhaps as the word spreads, they’ll notice it. So spread the word. ————— Update 1530PDT ————— I’m highlighting here 1BQ’s warning in the comments: DO NOT EVEN VISIT THE SITE TO CHECK IT OUT OR OUT OF CURIOSITY. This info comes from Popular Information – The hidden dangers of Musk’s votesafe.org: As you visit votesafe.org . . . A code based on the technical traits of the device, known as a device fingerprint, is created so a user can be tracked even if cookies are deleted. Troy Matthews at Meidas Touch also wrote about the website and its dangers: Elon Musk is Running a Fake Voter Registration Site Designed to Steal and Sell Data: VoteSafe.org . . . falsely claims to help people register to vote ahead of the midterm election in November. . . . The site is designed to resemble the actual voter registration site Vote.org, which provides legitimate voter registration and information services, and is run by a registered nonpartisan, non-profit organization. Pause here for emphasis: Musk’s site does not only collect all your personal data and build a profile on you. It fools you into thinking you have registered to vote when it fact it does no such thing.
