Rep. Eli Crane of Arizona started his campaign with verve, announcing he would be the Knight who fought against Forever Wars and their wasteful military spending.

Today, Crane is the Knight who fights against “fraud-ridden nongovernmental organizations.”

Did Sir Eli vanquish Iran or at least make them lower their prices?

Not exactly.

He championed the war but his friend Pete Hegseth did nothing to win it. Both Trump and Hegseth saw a chance to move heroically into the Middle East as a career-making opportunity. No one told them that they would actually have to do something in the Middle East to win the war.

Hegseth favored wasting all of the American missiles, and Trump wanted to live out his childhood fantasy by building World War II battleships.

Crane just authorized payments to put the U.S. a trillion dollars in debt.

So, this all became too much weight for the Congressman’s website to carry and he reversed course. He dropped the references to opposing Forever Wars. They in essence, decided to become the ‘Knights who Say Neep’ of the old Monty Python sketch.

The Arizona Mirror reports that Crane repeatedly voted to authorize the war.

In his makeover, Crane, a fanatic against abortion, dropped mention of the issue from his website. So, now Arizona is left with a congressman who wants to crawl deeper into a hole and hope the midterms blow over. Not a bad way to earn $174,000 a year.

Meanwhile, the war in Iran is going badly with claims of damage to the Iranian military found to be at least partially false.

Arizonans are working hard to let people know about Crane’s falsehoods. If you would like to help, contact your local Indivisible group.
