Watch Democrat rip ‘toxic’ Trump for Reflecting Pool fiasco [1]

['Walter Einenkel']

Date: 2026-09-04

Rep. Jamie Raskin of Maryland joined protesters at Donald Trump’s troubled reflecting pool in a show of support for David Hearn, the former Olympian whom the Trump administration has tried to scapegoat for their mishandling of the national landmark.

“The charges have been dropped against him, but some people in the government do not want to drop those charges with prejudice, meaning they might want to come back again,” Raskin said during remarks to the press. “[Hearn’s] got nothing to do with the toxic contamination of the reflecting pool and the algae farm that’s growing in it. That is a problem with the Trump administration, and they should deal with it without bringing my constituent Davey Hearn into it.”

Today’s protest is a reminder that, even if the Trump administration seeks to bully Americans into submission, there are many people who still see its actions and corruption for what they are.
