Good morning, music fans. Today’s featured artist is Prince Rogers Nelson, also known as…well, you know the immortal symbol. Prince himself said it was never meant to be spoken. Actually, I think what led to it was a squabble with his record company, which was screwing him over. It’s all in the past now. God, I miss the guy.

Welcome to Morning Open Thread, with daily posts from a

MOTley crew of hosts who choose their own topics from a

wide-open range: often music or poetry, sometimes history —

anything and everything from Apples to Zoology! We support

our community, invite and share ideas, and encourage thoughtful,

respectful dialogue in our open forum. That’s a feature, not a bug.

Other than that, site rulz rule.

Meanwhile, grab your cuppa, and join in!

It’s another warm and muggy night here in central Wisconsin. I’m ready for Fall. My kitty Rogan is back to knocking over my nightstand fan. I hope that means he is feeling better now that his thyroid pills have had a chance to work.

Now that that’s out of the way, I am trying to summon the energy to give my living room a thorough cleaning. I think of it as Spring cleaning, except I’m always running behind. I have a 10 foot by 10 foot rug and pad that I want to roll out in a room that’s only about eleven by twelve. It’s also packed full of heavy furniture. That means I will have to somehow get everything moved outside before I get the floor cleaned and the rug laid out. This has to be done before the nights get to chilly for my houseplants to survive outside. I don’t even know if I will ever get around to it this year. Wish me luck.

We’re always looking for new diarists whether to assume weekly duties or for a one shot deal. Contact either officebss or Ozarkblue if you’re interested.

Now how about some tunes?

What’s on your mind this morning?
