WYFP: Open Thread [1]

Heatwaves, roaches and power outages, OMG, what a Summer I’m having.

A couple weeks ago, the local energy company (PGE) pulled up along side our building and cut the power to work on some problem due to the heat and when it came back on, some circuit breaker didn’t work and so, the air conditioner in the computer room isn’t working and two lights in the toilet rooms (both in my section) aren”t working. PGE came out to see if they could fix the problem, but no, now our maintenance guy is having an electrician come out to see why they won’t work.

I have to go to extreme lengths to keep the computer room cool and it’s been a chore this week. Most days in the 90’s. Ugh.

And, that’s not all. a former tenant left behind a little gift because she was being evicted and now, we can’t seem to get rid of the cockroaches, who, I’m sure, love the heatwave. I found two in my apt and killed them toot sweet. If you kill them right away, they can’t make more little roaches.

It’s really difficult not having food stamps anymore, the food pantries are nice but there are things nobody donates to them like, parmesan cheese. Today, I got some coupons for a local store and can’t use them, it’s like the universe is twisting the knife.
