Embeds in Comments now work! [1]

Date: 2026-07-29

Markos announced on Monday that embeds of social media links now work in comments.

Embeddable social media links now live

This is huge progress!

Remember, until last week, pasting links to Bluesky posts or YouTube links in comments did not result in the post being displayed, something we were used to before DK6 and something that works in stories themselves.

This is because comments are handled by a different platform Viafoura than the stories. That disconnect is still present in many of the limitations of comments.

But this is real progress.

Just paste the link/URL and things now work as expected, except for a few quirks, that hopefully will get resolved soon.

Links that work –

Bluesky

Mastodon (interestingly, it does not work in stories)

X

TikTok

YouTube

YouTube shorts

Vimeo

Links to (most) websites

…

Links that don’t seem to work yet –

Threads

Instagram

Facebook

…

Limitations:

Only one embed per comment is expanded

The embed image is shown at the bottom of the comment.

The top of the comment section below contains few of the examples.

Feel free to experiment and discover.

Feel free to add your discoveries and tips & tricks for others to use.

Feel free to mention other important features that you are waiting for.

Let’s keep in mind, the larger goal is to write more effective stories and comments, to support each other, to increase our reach and to participate in discussions so that we remove the plague that has infested this nation and restore normalcy back to our country by helping elect Democrats.
