Kitchen Table Kibitzing 7/28/2026: Wild Music [1] ['Belinda Ridgewood', 'Kelli Anne Busey', 'News Corpse'] Date: 2026-07-28 Good evening, Kibitzers! A few weeks ago in a comment here, underTheRadar linked a song from a musician named Thomas Benjamin Wild, Esq, some of whose work I had stashed in a KTK-ideas document and then kept forgetting about. That seemed like a perfect prompt to bring Mr. Wild (Esq) forward and post his music. Mr. Wild is from Bedford, UK, generally accompanies himself on ukulele or banjolele, and combines an early-20th-century aesthetic with what he describes as “punk rock sensibilities“; it won’t surprise you to learn he’s a favorite at steampunk events. He has a YouTube channel and a website, as well as other social media presence, and now you know about as much as I do. He does do covers (some that might surprise you), but I’ve focused on his original songs here, which are numerous, short, and generally funny. I like the beaming smile with which he delivers every song, regardless of content. This is the song that went viral for him on YouTube with over 21 million views. This live performance took place in the “Vintage Suit Hire” section of the Boyds of Bedford clothing shop on November 2, 2018. I’ve No More Fucks to Give ❧ [3:05] This is the one underTheRadar had brought up, and I know that most of us have been there. Could You Really Not Just Put This in an Email? ❧ [2:39] Here’s one from a few months ago. The text under the video reads: A song written very much with a certain person in mind, but in truth, it could be about a number of people… * Tr*mp. It’s about Tr*mp, quite obviously… A Song for a Certain Person ❧ [1:50] But the UK is not off the hook! Let’s Put the King in a Nice Little Flat ❧ [1:33] Not all his songs are political. Dog owners may relate. Sorry, but the Dog’s a Dickhead ❧ [2:01] Some Notes on the “Manosphere” ❧ [2:05] Stop Using Generative A.I. ❧ [1:56] Why Do You Have to Go and Get Political? ❧ [1:06] My Brain Won’t Shut the Fuck Up ❧ [2:32] I Don’t Want Kids ❧ [2:55] Well, This Is Shit ❧ [3:06] It’s Too Bloody Hot! ❧ [1:50] I mentioned he did a bunch of covers, so I thought I should include one here. It might not be what you expect. In memory of Bonnie Tyler, then! Total Eclipse Of the Heart ❧ [3:07] Shifting gears stylistically, to close: I’m very pleased to tell you that yesterday, we got a new song from one of our most distinguished political parodists. Roy Zimmerman has been quiet for a while, but is back with Bumbling Trumpleweeds. Fans of cowboy songs may recognize the tune as the Roy Rogers & Sons of the Pioneers song Tumbling Tumbleweeds. ❧ [1:55] [END] --- [1] Url: https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2026/7/28/800075476/community/kitchen-table-kibitzing-7-28-2026/ Published and (C) by Daily Kos Content appears here under this condition or license: Site content may be used for any purpose without permission unless otherwise specified. via Magical.Fish Gopher News Feeds: gopher://magical.fish/1/feeds/news/dailykos/
