Another Day, Another Lesson [1] ['Mathy Kathy', 'Dan K', 'Chloris Creator', 'Greg Dworkin', 'Thom Hartmann'] Date: 2026-07-20 “”””Yes, I understand what you are thinking. Google search let me down in a big way. A real face plant. I took the top number. I really thought I was talking to Hewlett Packard about my printer. Actually, I had been taken in by bad actors. I lost no money but I gave away so much information I had to really slam down the locks on my financials. What a freaking pain in the neck. What is gonna happen after we start trusting AI in the same way we trust Google and it turns into a verb instead of a noun? And then a bad actor sucks your blood. Yes. It’s not a walk in the park.””” That is what I said as a comment in my last diary about AI. Since that time I have had an epiphany and that comment brings me to the understanding that trusting AI with all its vast resources is just like trusting Google’s paying customers. AI is free. And the hype is the engine. AI works like an exoskeleton. It is a fun recreational device that can make you run faster and jump higher. It is an emerging medical device that is better than a wheel chair but still quite bulky. In a short time the recreational device has moved to just a small battery and a streamlined device, it is so fun. The medical exoskeleton still requires a big old back pack battery and a team of medical assistants to set it up so an individual can use it in a very controlled environment. AI is fun and getting better and faster for recreational users but for any real world application needs an educated scientist to be a serious user. It basically is a faster killing machine, as are most new technologies. I know, the stars in my eyes have seen the light. (what happens to stars in the light) AI is a happiness machine and will be agreeable. Let’s say you make an assumption that all leases run from the 1st of the month to the end of the month. AI will jump right in that bed with you. But leases can run from the 15th of the month to the 15th of the month if that is how they are written. Collecting the rent is more convenient if is done from the 1st of the month to the end of the month. So it is in the lease that it will be that way. Whatever is the most convenient and tricksy. Rent collection dates have nothing to do with the dates of the lease. The dates of the lease are separate. So it is a tricky legal way to inflate your last rent bill when you move out. When you move out you are required to pay a prorated amount for your last month’s rent because your contract doesn’t end at the end of the month, it ends 15 days into the next month. Am I making sense here? AI has all the knowledge of mankind in its giant data centers. But it is still not a microwave for dealing with the real world. I learned a lesson here. If you think all leases except yours run from the 1st to the end of the month like rent collection, AI will be right there with you. And when you figure out your assumption was wrong, AI will be there with you too. I think I am gonna be ghosting AI to tell you the truth. The old ASS OF YOU AND ME lesson. Crap.
