No shock: WAPO buries a positive development [1]

Long time reader/lurker here, first ever post. Apologies if anyone else has commented on this point, but there was some good news this week. First, check out this poll results article from WAPO:



“Trump approval stuck in the 30s amid pessimism on Iran and economy, poll finds”

At first glance the article reads like the usual blah-blah about how most people think Trump sucks raw eggs, but an immovable ~37% of our dear citizens still happily munch on the shells. Really? After all that’s happened 37% of our countrymates still are enthralled with his BS? Seems that way.



But, once one gets down to the seventh paragraph the underlying reality is revealed, one that offers a glimmer of hope:



“A new low of 15 percent “approve strongly” (AS) of Trump, down from 19 percent in February, while 22 percent “approve somewhat.” This is the first Post-Ipsos poll where significantly more than half of Trump approvers support him only “somewhat,” rather than strongly. During his first term, about two-thirds of those who approved of his handling of the presidency did so strongly.”



The article then goes on to discuss the various voter groups in impressive detail, but IMHO the big news is that drastically plummeting 15% AS number. Per the graph provided, that’s the lowest AS level across six sick years of his time in office.



Which means that their headline is total BS. The overall approval might be relatively “static”, but the real story is the significant disintegration of the solid supporter base. Way to bury the lede WAPO and avoid any “fake news!” blowback. Hilariously disingenuous.



I’m not news-commentary-omniscient, but I wonder if any MSM talking heads are seizing on this development. If you know of any please link in the comments.



Regardless, it may be that we’re finally seeing a way bigly way long overdue awakening amongst the nauseating and impervious-to-facts Trump = Jesus/Savior/King AS crowd.



Again, just a glimmer of hope that we might soon return to sanity, but I’ll take it.
