DK6 Week 12: End of Week Update [1]

I’m writing the end-of-week update a day early today, because Daily Kos has July 3 off for the holiday. Happy independence day!

What We Changed This Week

Grouped stories by Draft, Scheduled and Published on a user’s profile and added the ability to filter by status (6/30/2026)

Displayed a count of the number of posts with a given Tag on the Tags page (6/30/2026)

Default image caption to alt text for legacy images (6/30/2026)

Fixed header image crop problem (6/30/2026)

Fixed the custom date picker on Search that was closing the advanced filters (6/30/2026)

Added a new Jump To Comments box in stories that are more than one paragraph long* (6/30/2026)

Add a show/hide toggle to the password field (7/2/2026)

Fix disappearing line breaks in Kosmail (7/2/2026)

Add Community Spotlight and Recent Stories to Old Home Page (7/2/2026)

Stop automatically putting your email address in the newsletter signup box on article pages (7/2/2026)

Auto-fill alt text on Title Images (7/2/2026)

What Are Working On Next Week

Google and Apple single sign on

Allow giving a gift subscription by user name

Adding the first few lines of an article when you hover over the title



*The “Jump to Comments” box is something we are trying out. I know a lot of people don’t like it — please keep sharing your feedback.

It seems like the logout issue is much better for a lot of people — please continue to let us know if you are still having trouble.



We started looking into an issue that was reported about a user having image uploads hang when using the Edge browser on Windows. We couldn’t reproduce this, so please let us know if this is still an issue (or any other bugs, of course).
