This is the very best explanation of how bad stock buy backs are for the working people of this country I’ve ever ran across. We REALLY need these younger Democrats to speak to these economic issues. Our older, Corporate Democrats have had their chances and didn’t confront this reality, so they need to make room for people like Abdul.

“…When CEOs start to manipulate in the short- term to increase the value of their stock and they’re not asking big picture questions about the long-term value of the company the things that they actually make, whether or not they’re running a really high quality company, it starts to lead to decisions that’s less about the long-term profitability and more about whether or not every quarter the stock price looks as high as it can be.”



That’s a quote from a portion of his video (emphasis mine) and is as fundamental a mistake in our economy as can be. I’m so happy he’s talking about this, it’s something people really need to understand. This is why so much of what we make now is so poor in quality compared to things made in the past.
