[1] ['Kelli Anne Busey', 'Greg Dworkin'] Date: 2026-06-19 Happy Friday! Bit has been on vacation since Monday!! Unfortunately, she goes back to work next Monday, but she’s supposed to have 3 days off next week because she worked on Tuesday this week. So hoping that holds true. IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news! I also give her space to rest and enjoy some time to herself, even if she often naps. She’s tired, and she deserves it. Monday we mostly stayed home and she rested, though we did take Mongo for a walk in the evening once it cools off. Tuesday she went to work at a sister store for a few hours to familiarize herself with a new POS system, so she can teach her own staff when it’s installed in her store in a few weeks. Wednesday we went shopping. We left around 11 am and got home around 5:30. We walked up and went to several shops, ended up at Walmart (rare stop for us, but Bit had a gift card that someone gave her), got some new work pants for Bit, part of Nizz’s parent’s day present, and some other things. Also got other parts of their parent’s day present at other stores along the way. I couldn’t get them what I originally wanted to get them because Bath and Body Works in our area had a very very limited selection of Mandalorian things, and didn’t have the metal old school style lunch box at all :(. Thursday we got a few things done around the house, and then walked up to Dollar General to get a rake, because we forgot to get that on Wednesday. We stopped at the thrift store on the way, and found 3 Occupational Therapy text books for sale and picked those up for Bit, and two simple t-shirt style dresses for me. Very comfy for summer. We also stopped and got some lemonade at a kid’s lemonade stand on the way home, made the girl’s day because Bit left her a nice tip. We turned down onto our block, and noticed smoke where there shouldn’t be. There is a small business, some sort of legal thing, half the sign is in English, half is in Spanish. They help with immigration cases among other things. In front of the business are some of those decorative ‘rail ties’ right in front of the parking spaces. Two of them were on fire. The business was closed, no one was there. The driveway is loose stone so I couldn’t get to it. Bit dumped her water bottle on it, thinking it was smaller than it was, but that didn’t put out the fire. Next to the business is a house, and they were home. Their truck was about 5-10 feet away from the fire, so Bit knocked on their door, and they put the fire out with their hose. The fire was small, so it really wasn’t worth a whole fire department response, and the people who live next door said they would tell the guy who works there tomorrow about the fire. I am hoping it was accidental. It was REALLY hot today, it’s been dry, and if someone was leaking the wrong fluids from their car, it wouldn’t take much to spark something off. I’m just glad we were walking past at the right time to catch it and make sure it got put out before it spread. Then we walked home. Today we are planning on doing some yard work in the morning before it gets hot, and we need to fix the toilet in my bathroom today or tomorrow. Sunday is groceries and Parent’s Day, and then, it’s back to work for Bit again, unfortunately. I really enjoy having her home more and getting to spend more time with her.
