DK6 Week 10: End of Week Update [1]

['Allison Mchenry']

Date: 2026-06-18

I’m writing the end of week update today instead of tomorrow because Daily Kos staff are off tomorrow in honor of Juneteenth. I plan to bring my twins to a cultural event in my town in observance — I’ll see you all again next week. Please continue to send those bug reports! They are critical to us fixing hard-to-capture issues like the logout bug and anything going on with the post scheduler.

What We Fixed This Week

Added advanced search filters (6/16/2026)

More work to make the header functional for different browsers/browser zoom levels (6/16/2026)

Sort Group members by role (Administrator, Moderator, Member) (6/18/2026)

Move captions off of the media library panel so you aren’t always seeing the same caption every time an image is used (6/18/2026)

Logout issue continuing work

What We Are Working On Next Week

Making attribution and alt text required fields on post publish/save had some unexpected side effects, so we’re trying this again

Add a confirmation dialogue box before deleting a private message conversation

Fixing crop on group header images

Logout issue continuing work

A TV Show Recommendation

I watched the Netflix 4-part series Death by Lightning this week, about the assassination of President James Garfield in 1881. They took some liberties with modernizing the language and making some of the characters more black and white than I think they were in real life, but for any history nerds out there, it was a great watch! Highly recommended — there are some parallels with the current political situation that I personally found reassuring (there has always been corruption, there have always been great leaders fighting it).
