New Day Cafe: Whimsyday!! [1]

The idea for the soft watch came to Dali when he watched Camembert cheese melt in the sun. — Ramin Nasibov (@nasibov.me) 2026-06-13T19:58:01.881Z

That’s what happened to time for me, trying to put this together!

Imagine!

Happy Whimsyday! Pull up a chair and grab a cuppa while we whimsy.

All are welcome to join the fun, the silliness, the conversations. If you don’t know…just ask! Some things really do require a bit of explanation.

We do not post photos of snakes, creepy crawlies, or any photo depicting harm to humans or animals.

We, as a group, have declared a moratorium on photos of Trump. We’ve seen enough, heard enough. This is a mostly Trump-Free Zone!

There will be a few surprises along the way, all good ones, we hope.

We are here to keep building the Daily Kos Community.

We post Mon-Sun at 10:30 a.m. Eastern.

Pie fights will be met with outrageous ridicule and insults. Trolls will be incinerated and served at the next group BBQ. As briquettes.

Remember to love yourself. It’s the most basic love of all.

It’s the key to life!

A bridge to a new view:

The transmission towers crossing Lake Pontchartrain are often used as a visual example of Earth’s curvature. At long distances, the structures appear to descend toward the horizon, creating an effect linked to the planet’s convex surface. — Digital Brain (@yourdigitalbrain.bsky.social) 2026-06-14T04:00:08.161Z

Can’t remember if I shared this, so….here!

You might be cool, but you’ll never be “rooster on a skateboard” cool!

Find whimsy everywhere you can!
