Goodbye [1]

I remember Renee. Poor, rough around the edges. A lot of people at my workplace didn’t like her. A couple of times, my mother and I rode her home from work. My mother really liked Renee.

“I knew a lot of people just like her at the VA,” (hospital where she worked as a charge nurse). “Tough and strong cos they have to be. And very loyal.” In a few sentences, my mum summed up Renee.

And one other thing: Renee suffered no fools and took no prisoners. “F y’all mfers” was commonly heard from her. (Expletives not deleted when Renee spoke it).

Well, lately I find myself really at the end of what I find remotely acceptable or bearable on many fronts. And I find myself echoing Renee. F y’all mfers.

I’ve been on this site and its predecessor for several years. It was pretty good when I started. The last year, not so much. And since the migration of the site, it sucks jellyfish turds.

Some of us have a life, go away for a few days, come back to a drama that everyone is talking about, ask “What’s up?” and get brushed aside like we’re nothing. “Oh, you had to be there!” What kind of effery is that? I guess those of you who had time over the weekend to hang around are all that, aren’t you? And those of us who don’t are a little less, aren’t we? We don’t deserve to know what the “grown-ups” know, do we?

Meanwhile, y’all are on here writing about who’s fit to be in charge of our country, and who’s not. Here’s a novel idea: How about present the blueprint of the country we want, and then pick the leader who responds favorably with plans to get all those things for us? How ’bout put them in office, watch them, and ride their ass till they get it done? Why be wimpy and helpless? And then wonder why 1/3 of the country stayed home and didn’t vote!

I would shake my head but I have vertigo from rolling my eyes.

Wait for me, Renee!
