For generations, community theater has done more than entertain. It has challenged power, confronted injustice, sparked civic debate, and given ordinary people a stage on which to wrestle publicly with the moral questions of their time. From labor halls and church basements to black box theaters and university stages, some of the most important political conversations in American life have begun not in Congress or on cable news — but in small rooms filled with folding chairs, imperfect lighting, and citizens willing to speak honestly to one another.

12 Angry Floridians was created in that tradition.

Inspired by the jury-room dramas that have long explored democracy, truth, and civic responsibility, this independent stage play imagines a world without Judge Alieen Cannon, where the facts and evidence are presented to twelve Americans deliberating the fate of a former president accused of mishandling classified national security documents. But beneath the legal arguments lies a deeper question: can a nation survive when its citizens no longer trust the same facts, institutions, or even one another?

The project is being released freely to independent producers, schools, civic groups, actors, directors, and community theaters who want to stage bold contemporary work without waiting for permission from major cultural gatekeepers. The script is intentionally flexible, affordable to produce, and designed for adaptation to local communities and casts.
