Kindness Summit Launches Global Initiative [1] ['News Corpse', 'Dan K', 'Greg Dworkin'] Date: 2026-06-01 Leaders at the inaugural k20 Kindness Without Borders Summit signed a 20/20 Vision for Kindness proclamation uniting kindness organization around the world in support of a shared global mission. Hosted by The Roots of Compassion and Kindness (ROCK) Center at Florida Gulf Coast University on May 15-16, the summit brought together influential national and international leaders to explore how kindness serves as a powerful force for positive change. Organizations including The World Kindness Movement, The Global Kindness Institute, Kindr Foundation, kindness.org, Kindness Unlimited, KindLee, Kindness Worldwide, RippleCore and others signed the proclamation, committing to building a more connected and collaborative global kindness movement supported by the k20 initiative “This is a new model for a new time,” said Alan Williams, London-based founder of the k20 Kindness Without Borders Initiative. “In an era when division and distrust have taken center stage, we are creating an environment where members of the global kindness movement can connect, collaborate, and create more positive impact together.” Williams said the lowercase “k” in k20 reinforces the idea that kindness can be quiet and small, yet still profoundly powerful. Almost 300 people attended the sold-out summit. Speakers shared research-based insights into kindness and leadership, including its impact on organizational performance and the business outcomes. Presenters also highlighted scientific evidence demonstrating the positive effects of kindness across education, healthcare, aging, and mental health. Moving forward, participating leaders will work together to embed kindness into systems of government, education, healthcare, and industry, while pursuing broader recognition of kindness as a catalyst for social and institutional change. “The World Kindness Movement is excited to be part of this global initiative and continue our work, which has focused on kindness for the past 27 years,” said Stephen Oke, President of the World Kindness Movement. “We recognize kindness as a driver of both human and economic outcomes. Kindness is the antidote to the growing division in our global community. The time is now.” For more information visit: k20kindness.com or contact pr@francescadonlan.com [END] --- [1] Url: https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2026/6/1/800048986/community/kindness-summit-launches-global-initiative/ Published and (C) by Daily Kos Content appears here under this condition or license: Site content may be used for any purpose without permission unless otherwise specified. via Magical.Fish Gopher News Feeds: gopher://magical.fish/1/feeds/news/dailykos/
