Welcome to Morning Open Thread. On Thursdays, I will continue the tradition of a theme.

But the theme is very expandable, in whatever clever ways you devise to do that! And there are no demerits for straying from the theme.

Morning Open Thread is looking for contributors, either occasional or weekly. If interested, contact officebss or Ozarkblue for more information.

==================================================

“I Think We’re Alone Now” is a song written and composed by Ritchie Cordell that was first recorded by Tommy James and the Shondells.

The song was originally written as a romantic ballad, but when James, Cordell and Gentry recorded a quick demo, they made the song faster. Tommy James later wrote: “Ritchie and Bo originally wrote the song as a mid-tempo ballad. I said no way and started speeding it up…. I.. put on a nasally, almost juvenile-sounding lead vocal, and without realizing it, we invented “bubblegum” music.”

====================

“Think It Over” is a song written by Buddy Holly, Jerry Allison, and Norman Petty in 1958, originally recorded by the Crickets. The record was a Top Forty hit in the U.S. and UK in 1958. Buddy Holly played lead guitar. Vi Petty, producer Norman Petty’s wife, played piano on this recording.
