May Day [1]

May Day is tomorrow. My county will have at least two rallies in honor of the day. Like many across the United States, we support Workers Over Billionaires. We support taxing the rich. We support medical care for all. We support a living wage for a day’s work. We support public education. These aren’t difficult things. Lots of other countries do this. Why can’t we?

The reason is greed. More for me, less for thee. If a corporation wants people to buy their goods, they need to pay a wage that will allow their workers to purchase those goods. It isn’t rocket science. I’m not against a person building a business and making a fortune. More power to them. I am against them building a business on the backs of workers who are earning the minimum wage that keeps body and soul together. There are businesses that do pay thier workers a living wage. The businesses thrive. The workers thrive. Workforce churn is at a minimum because the work isn’t slowly killing the workers. They’re happy in their job, happy with their wages, and there is no point in leaving for a better position.

What we don’t need is an Epstein-class of people with a third yacht, a fifth vacation home, a sixteenth car. There is plenty to go around. No one should be going without medical care, food, or housing. Let’s work on that.

Tomorrow, join others in your community to speak out against billionaires. Call your local Dem or Indivisible office and find out where they’re assembling. You’ll be glad you did.

Welcome to the resistance.

Release the Epstein Files.
